Shift/Schedule

- Typically 12-hour shifts
- Schedule based on unit staffing needs
Requirements and Skills
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nebraska
- Experience in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) nursing
- Strong critical thinking and patient assessment skills
- Proficient in monitoring and managing ventilators, IV pumps, and other ICU equipment
- Ability to handle high-acuity patients with complex medical conditions
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU
- Monitor and interpret patient vital signs and clinical data continuously
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and therapies following physician orders and protocols
- Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary team members
- Educate patients and families regarding care plans and treatment progress
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient condition and interventions
- Respond efficiently to emergency situations and changes in patient status
- Ensure adherence to infection control and safety standards
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program
- Valid RN license in the state of Nebraska
- Demonstrated ICU experience preferred
- BLS certification required at hire
- ACLS certification highly recommended
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
